Re-Imagining English Language Teaching: Involve, Evolve, Inspire
The world around us is in perpetual change and so is foreign language teaching. How do the constantly changing demands of modern life affect what and how our students learn? What changes have had the biggest impact on teachers in recent years? More importantly, how can innovative teaching methods be applied in the Romanian public and private education system?
Regardless of background or experience, all foreign language teachers need to embrace the changes in order to adapt to the Millennial generation and the current global developments. ‘Re-Imagining English Language Teaching: Involve, Evolve, Inspire’ is an ELT Conference made to inspire and help you grow, by providing a hands-on approach to foreign language teaching and learning.
Held in Sinaia between 27th and 29th of April 2018, and organised by Uniscan Grup Educațional and European Examination Centre, in collaboration with Active Learning Training Centre and Express Publishing, the conference will bring together some of the most passionate and dedicated international speakers but also Romanian teachers from all parts of the country.

WHO CAN JOIN?
This conference is addressed to all language teachers, regardless of the taught language or years of experience.
Certificates of attendance attesting 16 hours of teacher training will be offered to all participants in collaboration with CCD Prahova. Certificates to attest the delivery of a workshop within the Conference will be offered to all presenting teachers.
INTERNATIONAL GUEST SPEAKERS:
Bob Obee has worked in a wide range of ELT teaching and teacher training contexts around the world, formerly as an Academic Director in British Council Teaching Centres in Athens and Kuala Lumpur and more recently as a senior consultant on international language projects for Cambridge English Language Assessment in the areas of school curricula and assessment. He has been the Professional Support Leader for Cambridge English Language Assessment Speaking Tests in southern Europe for many years and has written a wide range of ELT publications with CUP and Express Publishing. He is the author of Upstream Upper Intermediate and the grammar Activity Book. He has worked on a range of CLIL projects around the world and is currently working on an innovative Primary CLIL series.
Teacher Trainer, EFL School Management Consultant, Educational & Training Consultants, Athens, Greece. Lilika Couri is co-director of Educational & training Consultants and has conducted teacher training and FL School management courses in Greece and abroad. She is the co-author of coursebooks for the teaching of English to pre-primary and primary learners and of teachers’ resource books. Lilika is a founding member of TESOL GREECE and of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Greece and has served on the Board of both professional volunteer associations.
Martin Jelínek has over 15 years’ experience in ELT as a teacher, teacher trainer, academic manager, and educational consultant in Europe and Central America. Martin’s main specialisation is in secondary and adult language teaching where he focuses on teaching and learning innovation, communication and presentation skills. Besides running his own business, Martin is also an active Cambridge Oral Examiner and regularly delivers talks/workshops at venues at home and internationally.
Kristy Kors has a BA (Hons) from Leeds Metropolitan University and a CELTA allowing her to study different types of teaching methodological approaches. She taught English as a foreign language for several years before joining Express Publishing as an ELT Consultant. She now participates in seminars and conferences around the world, where she enjoys sharing ideas on the latest methodological advances.
Suzanne holds a B.A. degree in Spanish and an M.A. degree in TEFL from San Francisco State University. She has had extensive teaching, teacher training and materials development experience. She is the co-director of Educational & Training Consultants, Athens, Greece and has co-authored a number of books for EFL professionals.
Marjorie Rosenberg taught at the tertiary level for over twenty years in Graz, Austria working with both pre-service teachers and students from a variety of areas of study. She currently works with corporate clients at a local bank, trains teachers and writes materials. Marjorie has written In Business and two of the Business Advantage Personal Study Books as well as CDROM materials for FCE and CAE (Cambridge University Press), English for Banking and Finance 2 (Pearson), revised Pass BEC Vantage (National Geographic-Cengage), written materials for the teachers book of In Company (Macmillan) and is the author of two methodology books, Spotlight on learning styles (Delta Publishing) and Creating Activities for Different Learner Types. (Wayzgoose Press). She has recently revised and updated Communicative Business English Activities with Express Publishing and is one of the authors of the new series Business Partner (Pearson). She has held workshops at talks at more than 100 international conferences and been a plenary speaker at over 20 conferences around the globe. Marjorie is currently the IATEFL Vice President, having served as President from April 2015 – April 2017 and was the IATEFL BESIG Coordinator from 2009-2015.
